Cut the red dates open and core them. -

Wash the ginger without peeling it and pat it flat. -

Put about 1/2 pot of water in a medium soup pot, add red dates and ginger, boil the water, lower the heat and cook for 30 to 40 minutes. -

Remove the residue and add an appropriate amount of brown sugar. You can decide how much you want, or you can omit it. Tang Cheng!
Tips
1. It is best to remove the pits of red dates. People of the older generation say that the pits of red dates are hot and dry;
2. Do not peel ginger. It is said that the medicinal properties of ginger meat and ginger skin balance each other.
